Baton Rouge, Louisiana – November 6, 2014 – Industrial Emergency Services, LLC (“IES”) (www.iesllc.com) announced today that the company will open a new facility in Geismar, Louisiana in December 2014. The facility will serve as the IES Geismar Industrial Fire Station, Emergency Response Training and Emergency Operations Center.
Geismar is home to a concentration of over 30 significant petrochemical, chemical and related facilities. At the request of our customers and to support the rapid growth of industrial plants in the area, including Convent and St. James Parish, IES is adding this facility to supplement its other resources in the greater Baton Rouge area. The station will house specialized industrial emergency response equipment as well as serve as an industrial fire & safety training center which will provide scheduled emergency response and safety related courses for open enrollment. The Training Center will also serve as an alternate Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for plants in the area, should their on-site EOC be impacted by a plant emergency.
“This new industrial fire station not only allows IES to better support our existing customers, but will also allow us to provide support to the growing industrial facilities in the Geismar area. The station will be staffed by professional industrial fire fighters who are also training in confined space & high angle rescue, emergency medical, hazardous materials and industrial safety. The station will be equipped with specialized industrial emergency response equipment for industrial, marine and rail firefighting which will benefit the industrial plants in the area,” said IES Fire Chief & Vice President of Operations, Tom Henning.
The addition of these resources will add to IES’s capability and further establish IES as the premier solution to industrial, transportation and marine customers for their emergency preparedness and response needs.
IES is a leading national provider of in-plant fire departments, emergency preparedness planning and emergency response, plant turnaround safety support services, safety training, and pipeline safety services.
